ZK Interchain Security Modules with Hyperlane

In an era dominated by digital advancements, our blog takes you on a journey through the intricate landscape of online banking with the intriguing title, "Navigating the Digital Frontier: Unveiling the Power of Online Banking." Immerse yourself in the transformative realm where convenience meets security, and financial management transcends traditional boundaries.

Electron Labs has begun collaborating with Hyperlane to develop a ZK Light Client security module for secure chain-to-chain communication. Developers using Hyperlane SDK will be able to choose Electron’s ZK ISM as their preferred security module for building cross-chain applications.

After the launch of zkBridge between Ethereum and Near, Electron protocol is now expanding it’s trustless cross-chain protocol deeper into the EVM ecosystem.

Many solutions exist today but the issue with these architectures is that they include trust in third parties such as relayers, multisig, and committee based oracles. ZK-proofs of light client state allow us to validate the state of any blockchain at a given point in time without assuming any trust in a third party. This not only enables a secure system for cross chain bridging but also opens up a new class of applications that were not possible before such as state proofs, cross chain governance, cross-chain staking etc.

We have already implemented this into our NEAR <> Ethereum cross chain bridge and through the ISM, we will expand our solution to the Hyperlane developers.

Hyperlane is secured by Interchain Security Modules (ISMs)

ISMs are smart contracts that are responsible for verifying that interchain messages being delivered on the destination chain were actually sent on the origin chain. Read more about ISMs here!

In conclusion, this collaboration between Electron Labs and Hyperlane brings forth a promising era of ZK security modules and trustless cross-chain protocols. This collaboration signifies a bold step towards a future where blockchain interoperability is not only seamless but also highly secure. As the development of the Interchain Security Module progresses, we eagerly anticipate the transformative impact it will have on the world of decentralized applications.

About Hyperlane

Hyperlane is the first Permissionless Interoperability layer, enabling anyone to connect any blockchain, out-of-the-box. With Hyperlane, developers can build Interchain Applications, apps that abstract away the complexity of interchain interactions and serve users on any connected chain. Additionally, Hyperlane’s modular security stack gives developers the power to customize their interchain security. Hyperlane development is open-source and led by core developers at Abacus Works.

About Electron

Electron is building a ZK compression engine for Consensus protocols. We are live on mainnet, and have multiple partnerships including NEAR, Hyperlane, Router protocol, Archway, Kadena and Cysic. We have pioneered ED25519 circuits and ZK light clients. We are also live on Ethereum and Near mainnet where users can send assets through our zkBridge.
